The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden continues as one of the oldest zoos situated in the US and a top attraction in Cincinnati.

The zoo is home to over 500 animal species, including some of the world’s rarest and most endangered animals. I enjoyed seeing everything from lions and tigers to gorillas and penguins when I visited.

I particularly loved the dark “Night Hunters” exhibit that featured a wandering path through a building with everything from bats to leopards. Anything that likes to hunt in the night can be found here.

The zoo also features botanical gardens, a 4-D theater, and a carousel.

3. Over-the-Rhine Neighborhood

Over-the-Rhine is a historic neighborhood in Cincinnati that has undergone a revival in recent years.

The area is known for its beautiful 19th-century architecture and vibrant arts and culture scene. Tourists can explore the neighborhood on foot and discover local shops, galleries, and restaurants.

Some top attractions in Over-the-Rhine include Washington Park, Findlay Market, and the Music Hall.

4. Great American Ball Park

If you’re a sports fan, catching a Cincinnati Reds game and attending the Great American Ball Park is a must-do.

The Reds are the oldest professional baseball team in the United States, and the ballpark offers a unique fan experience. Visitors can enjoy great food, cold beer, and fantastic views of the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati.

5. National Underground Railroad Freedom Center

The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is an important museum dedicated to telling the story of the Underground Railroad and the struggle for freedom.

The Cincinnati Music Hall is a historic building that has been a center for the performing arts in Cincinnati for over 140 years.

The building is home to the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra, and the Cincinnati Opera. Visitors can attend a performance or tour the building and learn about its history and architecture.

One day when I visited Cincinnati, I walked across the Roebling Suspension Bridge and jogged over to the Newport Aquarium to see all the wonderful underwater animals and creatures on display.
