Quality Dog Food Lessens Stool Size

Feeding quality dog food (with higher fat and protein concentrations), is essential for all working dogs.

One added advantage to feeding a higher quality diet is that you’ll notice your dog’s stool sizes and frequency will dramatically decrease. Not only will they be healthier, but their systems have been built for thousands of years, to extract all the necessary nutrients from the food they’re given.

Stop feeding food with fillers, and you’ll notice this phenomenon.

Happy feeding!

Toilet Brush Trick

By Dana Day

Use a toilet brush to clean your dog bowls! Please buy a NEW brush. After using the brush we always put it into a bucket of water with a tad of bleach.

Cable Cutters

If you are using cable ganglines, be sure that you always have a pair of cable cutters with you at all times. If the cable line gets rapped around a dog, you will be glad you have the cutters to get the dog out of a tight place. Same thing goes with polyethylene ropes. Keep a knife handy.

Kittie Sled

By Kristen Crain

A good way to feed is to have a regular plastic kiddie sled to haul around your buckets in. Take a piece of plywood and cut it down to fit on top of the sled. Then cut two holes just big enough for a 5 gallon bucket. You can attach it to the sled with zip ties.

Fly-B-Gone

By Barb Schaefer

If you are seeing a problem with flies attacking your poor sled dog’s ears, you can place a single drop of anti-flea medication on each ear. This will cause the flys to not bother your dog anymore; even though this little trick isn’t advertised on the anti-flea and tick medication packaging.

Mint Border

To help make your kennel prettier, less smelly, and to eliminate some bugs, plant mint around the border of your kennel. I planted a border of mint around my kennel, and I think it has been one of the best choices I have ever made!
