DOCO Al Fresco at Golden 1 Center in Downtown Sacramento is your open-air dining option to experience a menu from any of the participating restaurants.

Order food and drinks with your phone at your table and waiters will bring you your items — whether ordering from one place or a mix. We visited DOCO Al Fresco on one of the windiest days of the year, but it didn’t stop us from enjoying ourselves and leaving full.

DOCO Al Fresco Delivers Yard House

Ultimately, we didn’t order from a mix of restaurants but instead decided to order everything from Yard House.

To start, we enjoyed fantastic chicken lettuce wraps—tofu, green onions, water chestnuts, wonton cup, sweet chili, and spicy peanut vinaigrette. Fresh, light, and the perfect start.

As a secondary appetizer, we ordered ahi sashimi. Tasty and seared to rare, blackened, and topped with soy vinaigrette, wasabi, pickled vegetables, and ginger. The ahi was soft with a beautiful, smooth texture.

Barrett ordered spicy jambalaya for his main entree—blackened shrimp, andouille sausage, crawfish, chicken, peppers, and cajun cream sauce. I tried a bite and it was the perfect level of spiciness.

When I visit Yard House, I almost always seem to get the pork chops, so I needed to try something new. I went with lobster garlic noodles, including Maine lobster, shrimp, crab, shiitake mushrooms, spinach, and parmesan. So, so good! Sweet, chunky pieces of lobster among a mix of buttery noodles and large shrimp.

Dining in Downtown Sacramento

Despite all that has happened this year, I’m glad to see the Golden 1 Center and local restaurants doing what they can to bring experiences and options to the local community through various dining options.

It seems in California, we continue to flip-flop between outdoor dining allowance during the pandemic, but I hope to revisit the Downtown Commons area soon to dine again.
