Izabella Ristorante Italiano in South Lake Tahoe hits the spot if you’re looking for authentic, family Italian food.

Although the location is closed now due to Covid, I hope it can open again soon. The best part of this restaurant is its proximity to all of the Stateline hotels in South Lake Tahoe — just a quick stroll to get over to Izabella.

The location was recently redesigned and modernized, with the interior being warm and friendly with subdued lighting, tables, and booths.

A little taste of Italy at Izabella Ristorante Italiano.

Izabella Ristorante Italiano will take you on a flavor journey through Italy right in the Sierra Nevadas.

When we visited, we started our meal with bruschetta — your classic tomato, basil, garlic, and balsamic glaze. Calamari fritti followed with cocktail sauce and lemon aioli as dipping options. Flavorful and fresh.

Our salad choice included mixed greens with grape tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, sliced apple and pear, with a citrus sherry vinaigrette.

I tried the chicken piccata with artichoke, lemon-caper garlic butter sauce, and angel hair pasta for a classic main course. Deliciously moist, tangy and bright. Chicken was tender.

To end the night, we satisfied the sugar craving with crème brûlée and tiramisu.

Living the comfortable life of South Lake Tahoe.

South Lake Tahoe is full of all the creature comforts one could want for a relaxing vacation, all the way to any activity available for those who love the thrill of adventure.

Although I like my occasional dose of thrill, I’m overall a fond lover of all things comfy — food majorly included. My idea of a fun trip? Staying in a hotel in South Lake Tahoe for the weekend, shopping, hitting a movie, going on a few hikes, and eating to my heart’s content at Izabella Ristorante Italiano and as many other restaurants as possible.
