Cherry Blossom Viewing at the Capitol Park
Capitol Park, with its beautiful cherry blossoms, is a must-visit spot in spring. Stroll through the park and capture a few snaps of the stunning blossoms for your Instagram feed. We used to live in the Thayer Building on N. St with Capitol Park as our front yard, and I miss it! It’s a gorgeous area, although lots of construction if happening in the area currently while they rebuild the Capitol building annex.
Explore the UC Davis Arboretum
As a plant enthusiast, I highly recommend visiting the UC Davis Arboretum. With 100 acres of gardens, you’ll discover various plants worldwide and three looping trails roughly one mile each to explore different plant collections. Plus, the arboretum offers free guided tours on weekends. Parking is free on Saturdays and Sundays and $9 on weekdays.

For a fun day of fishing, boating, or picnicking, head to Lake Natoma. This picturesque lake offers a variety of outdoor activities, and with its calm waters, it’s an excellent spot for beginners to try watersports.
