***SPOILER ALERT***
I first watched the Lost TV series when I was 14 in 2004 when it originally came out and was hooked from the beginning.
I remember Lost being one of the first “adult” shows I was allowed to watch by my parents and watched alone in my room not to disturb my younger siblings.
Recently, I watched the show from beginning to end once more, through all six seasons, and found a renewed interest and excitement for the show. Lost certainly peaks through its first three seasons, but through and through, it’s a terrific piece of well-written work sure to take you on a fantastical, creative journey.
Here Is What I’ve Learned After Watching Lost Twice
- Guns — They spent a lot of time pointing guns at one another. They are very gun-happy in Lost. From The Others to anyone else who arrives on the island.
- Confusing Last Seasons — I agree that the real magic in Lost is maybe the first two seasons. From there, things get dicey.
- Family Issues — From beginning to end, the backstory is crucial in Lost, and you see parental and child relationships becoming the central focus of many characters. Daughters hate their fathers. Sons hate their mothers. Spouses bicker.
- Cheating — Cheating seems prevalent.
- All Connected — Sometimes in the Lost world, thoughts are returned after touching one another. This seems like a similar theme from Sense8.
- Injuries — Maybe it’s because Jack is a doctor and it’s a great way to create a “riveting” and “heartfelt” moment, but lots of people need medical assistance in Lost. Like, constantly. Maybe it’s because they’re living on an island? Even off the island, though, it seems people are frequently getting injured or dying. Quite dramatic.
Lost goes in many different directions, left and right, and leaves you with a tremendous feeling of adventure, mystery, and science fiction fascination.
